WELCOME TO SERET LONDON

SERET London 2017 brings the many and varied voices of Israel for this year’s ground-breaking Film & TV Festival.
For our sixth Festival, we have stronger voices from women of all cultures and power bases; louder voices from Israeli Arabs and from Palestinians, all offering their own expression of the social and political multiplicity that the Middle East’s leading democracy represents.
This year’s programme is in equal measure thought-provoking, and entertaining. With such a vibrant line-up of films and documentaries created in Israel over the past year, many of which have been big winners on the national and international film award circuit, we’ve almost been spoilt for choice.
Check out the full extent of the Festival’s films and documentaries here in this brochure; use our website www.seretinternational. org to book your tickets online, and come along to the Festival to see the best of Israeli Film and TV for yourself. You can catch some of the film makers at our lively Q & A sessions after some of the screenings, take part in a talk about Israeli cinema through the years, and perhaps join us for an exceptional evening at our Opening Gala.
We’re looking forward to seeing you at our Festival, which this year is coming to some new as well as long-supporting cinemas in London, and to Redbridge, Richmond and Manchester too.
As well as the UK, SERET International continues to grow, offering our programme to Berlin to Berlin and to Amsterdam, to Amsterdam, and we return to Santiago, Chile, for our second Festival there.

SERET LONDON 2017 PROMOTES:

Jerusalem Film Workshop
14th June- 25th July

We are proud to support the Jerusalem Film Workshop. It is a fantastic project encouraging young film makers to take that next step in to learning and doing more in the film industry. Open to 19-27 year olds, young talents are invited to submit an application for a chance to gain immeasurable experience in film making, whist travelling around Israel.
An incredible opportunity we implore our audiences to explore.
To learn more about the project, follow this website:

SERET supports a charity
We are proud to announce that Make-A-Wish® UK and Make-A-Wish® Israel are our chosen SERET charities for 2017. Make-A-Wish exists to grant magical wishes to enrich the lives of children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions.

Our thanks to
DR. NISSIM AND MRS RINA LEVY

Whilst we have many wonderful Festival supporters, we would like to extend an extra special thank you to Nissim and Rina Levy.
Nissim and Rina have been the main SERET International sponsors for several years now, helping in so many areas, from the Opening Gala Screening in London to expanding our Festivals across the world.
Dr. Levy is a man of many talents! A doctor of chemistry, and a former NASA scientist,
he has been a very successful trader and entrepreneur, and is the co-founder of MIUC, the outstanding private university in Marbella which attracts students from all over the world.
His philanthropic support began 20 years ago, while supporting the Yad Layeled Foundation, aimed at helping Israeli kids and teens in trouble.
Two years ago he was appointed President of “Special Olympics Israel” which provides year-round sports training and athletic competitions in a variety of Olympian sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
Nissim and Rina sit on the Board of Governors of Tel Aviv University, receiving special recognition for their Periphery Scholarship Fund which allows accessibility to higher education for young Israelis from disadvantaged backgrounds and outlying communities.
Most recently Dr. Levy was appointed Chairman of the newly established Board of Governors of the Herzl Museum on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
We appreciate their love for Israeli film, and for helping us to bring our programmes to new audiences. And we very much appreciate their generosity.
